Training Alliance Group (TAG) specialises in qualifications within the business, manufacturing, mining, transport, and logistics industries. TAG tailors its training to suit individual client needs, which includes both experiential and classroom-based learning.
In collaboration with Think.Digital and Training Alliance Group, A44 contributed to the development of an online virtual training solution for civil construction training courses. We produced a combined total of 147 unique training videos and provided 360° images of various machinery.
Training Alliance Group was faced with a fundamental challenge when the COVID-19 restrictions were introduced. How would they continue their hands-on specialist training when face to face learning was unachievable? The answer was virtual reality!
Employees from all different sectors within the business came together, working collaboratively to brainstorm the most effective way to translate the hands-on and detailed courses into an online experience. Ensuring that all learning outcomes of the courses were met, A44 worked with the trainers to create shotlists based on the provided syllabus for each unit.
We scripted and produced a total of 147 unique videos over a 3 month period for 8 different civil construction units. We also captured 360° images of various machinery to be later integrated into a custom virtual reality web app. Not only did these courses cover many theoretical aspects of civil construction training, but the courses also taught students how to operate heavy machinery such as a front end loader, grader, and excavator from within the cabin.
The outcome
TAG was very quick to react to the 2020 COVID-19 outbreak by converting the entire curriculum to an effective online format. Their students were able to continue their training without experiencing any major interruptions or delays. They have proved themselves as industry innovators as they continue to build their online experience beyond COVID-19 restrictions.
Realising the success that came with building their digital footprint, they are now working towards building their social media presence through online marketing with the help of a new website that is in sight.
